OUR PURPOSE
A fuller understanding of Africa begins with a wider view.
Africa Before explores the continent's histories and their connections to the wider world. Through carefully researched, accessible storytelling, we bring people, places, ideas and traditions into focus—placing African perspectives at the centre while remaining open to evidence, debate and discovery.
Our purpose is not to replace one narrow story with another. It is to make room for Africa's complexity: its achievements and contradictions, its exchanges and transformations, and the many ways its past informs its present.
